Gundabad Ogre 2

Man, I thought these were big until I started painting one of the Trolls. They are massive, absolutely massive. Anyway, that's another story for another day. For now, here is the second Ogre. Super cool this one. I put some scars on him for the hell of it. Next ogre up is a conversion from Shadow and Flame.

Iron Hills Dwarf with Spear Command

Its been a quiet month for posting, but not for painting. I started entering the One Ring painting challenges again, and the models are due in today. I figured I should get them posted up here as well. I dig them. Forge World is really kicking ass with these new models.

The Unexpected Journey - January 2017- Malbeth The Seer

I finally got Malbeth's base finished. This TUJ challenge has been awesome. I never would have thought to paint this model anytime soon and it was great to work on. Alot that can be done with it. If you have it, should break it out and paint it. Totally worth it!

The Unexpected Journey - Dain

So the December model for the Unexpected Journey was Dain on Foot. However, I was so pumped about the mini, that I decided to do both the foot and mounted version one after the other. The stuff Forge World is producing is just incredible. Both versions of Dain are exquisite.

I have a couple more dwarf things in the hopper. More pictures to come. Thanks for following along with me.

The Unexpected Journey - Novemeber 2016 - Buhrdur, Troll Chieftan

Believe it or not, I am actually caught up on the models for this challenge, just not caught up on the photos yet. However, here is Buhrdur. This was a super fun model to paint. Lots of individual pieces of leather to make look a bit different. I've always had trouble blending the pink skin into the blue, but with help from DMS, I think I got it pretty good on this. The Moria pillar is 3D printed. Not the best, as you can pretty clearly see the print lines in it. But it works. I cut it in half, sealed the top and bottom and then weathered it up a bit. Again, awesome model to paint.

FW Ogre #1

I can not tell you how stoked I am that Forge World is creating Middle Earth models. The models are just exquisite. I immediately opened up the first Ogre and got to painting him when they arrived. Went together real easy and just had a few gaps to fill up. Overall I am very pleased with how he turned out and I am excited to get started on the next one.

Iron Hills - Dwarf Ballista

I'm going a bit out of order, but who cares. I've been really stoked on the new Forge World models. I have been working my way through spearmen, but I was managed to find enough time to squeeze out the ballista. Unfortunately this particular package was missing two to the dwarfs, and only came with the ballista loaders. Never letting me down though, Forge World sent me another, so I have another one waiting to be built and painted.

Thanks for looking.

The Unexpected Journey - September 2016

Better late than never right? The model for this month was actually injured Eowyn from the "Death of Gothmog" diorama. However, as it is hard to come by, armored Eowyn was an alternate. And since the blister contained the mounted version, I decided to paint that as well. So here is Eowyn, foot and mounted, as well as the completed "Death of Gothmog" diorama.

Thorin's Company -EFGT Oin

So much to update. Been really busy painting and not busy posting. Such is the way of things I guess. Needless to say, I have alot to get up here. Lets stick with Thorin's Company for starters. Still working my way through these guys.

Here is Oin. The free hand on the hood of his cloak was a challenge!
